KAZAKH INVEST and USAID conduct a study tour for export promotion officials from the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan

On May 16-18 the USAID Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs project and JSC NC KAZAKH INVEST are conducting a study tour of Astana and Almaty for export promotion officials hailing from the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan in order to observe Kazakhstan’s export promotion expertise in practice.

A delegation of nine representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, embassies, and government agencies from these three countries arrived in Astana to receive training, exchange experience, and learn about the successful experience of JSC "NC KAZAKH INVEST" in increasing the export potential of local companies. The program includes a field visit to a Kazakhstan electric locomotive manufacturer as an example of advanced domestic production which has the potential for export.

"USAID organized a study tour to exchange experience in export promotion at JSC NC KAZAKH INVEST, which has advanced experience in implementing best practices to promote export promotion in Central Asia," said Geoff Wright, Chief of Party of USAID Competitiveness, Trade and Jobs in Central Asia. "Joint efforts of USAID and KAZAKH INVEST are aimed at strengthening cooperation among the specialized authorized agencies of the region, called upon to support the development of the export potential of local producers”.

The study tour will strengthen the ability of Central Asian export promotion authorities to actively participate in, and contribute to, export development, improved cooperation among export promotion agencies in the region, and increased regional trade and competitiveness.
